The
Bulgarian Organic Products Association (BOPA) under the auspices of IFOAM EU
GROUP hosted an Organic Farming Forum which took place on 26th-28th
July 2015 in Paragyurishte of central Bulgaria.

Representatives
and bodies from the Balkans participated in the event, along with the IFOAM EU
GROUP (International
Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements –
European Union Group) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic
of Bulgaria (Organic Farming and Plant Growing Directorate).
Having been invited by BOPA, we participated in the event with a
four-member group, consisting of interpreters and representatives of the plant
nursery.

The agenda
of the Balkan Organic Forum included: visit to the Historical Museum of the
area, presentations and discussions about issues and problems regarding organic
farming in the Balkan Peninsula, official dinner and traditional feasting, and
finally, a visit to the local distillery for the production of organic
essential rose oil.

Bioma’ presented the activities of the plant nursery, informed the participants
about the efforts taking place in the aromatic and vegetable plants in our
country as well as networking of Greek organic producers.
We would
